Skillset
ASP.NET. Using C# or VB.
I am very well educated in the capabilities and features of ASP.NET and the MVC framework, as well as the WebForms model with Razor or ASPX, using them to build powerful, dynamic, fluid websites.
The ASP.NET MVC creates a very streamlined approach and I am able to use it to it's fullest to create the websites I desire. In fact, this website is designed with ASP.NET and VB.NET.
Clean HTML design. To make things usable.
My HTML and CSS code is very clean. It is designed to be extremely readable and simple to follow. Nesting is done in a very logical and straight-forward
flow. I follow very simple standards and practices, and standardize code across the entire life-cycle.
Clean programming code. To assist with debugging.
Comments comments comments. Similarly to my HTML/CSS code, my C#, VB, Java (as well as all other languages) code is very clean. It's designed to be simple to follow, as when debugging you
don't have time to deal with arbitrary variable, method, namespace, property, field, enum, class, interface, or struct names. Things should be very clean-cut.
Projects and Products
Websites
IndieHUB.net. A free developer haven.
This was a website a comrade and I created, specifically for the free expression of development of all types. I myself implemented our current theme
and designed and implemented several other custom features, including a project-pages system, and a custom file host.
Attention
This project was discontinued in mid 2014.
Short for People. URL's as short as they come.
This was orignally a project I built for making URL's on my site extremely small. Since then I have expanded it to be a public website
offering the ability for anyone to submit a URL to be shortened. The benefit of Short 4 People is that it makes the URL's much safer by informing you of the
target of the link before forwarding.
Attention
This product is currently undergoing a transition to ASP.NET. Design and code changes are extremely likely. Features may be added or removed
at my discretion.
Testing
As of February 16, 2014 this product is in the testing phase of the core features and fundamental aspects of it's operation. As soon as I am certain it passes
the major testing aspects I have designed for it as of right now (basically the same functionality it had before), I will be releasing a beta version of it for
the public to use. The original version will remain online while this public testing is going on. Once the public testing is finished I will be moving all the
current database objects into the new version, and removing what database objects were created during the public testing that I must, and pushing it live.
Following this I will continue development on the new features I plan to add to the operation of it.
Open Testing
As of February 22, 2014 this product is in the open testing phase of the core features and fundamental aspects of it's operation. The public can now use the product
at the following URL: http://s4p.s4p.us/.
Paste for Us. Simple code sharing.
This was another project I started to simply highlight keywords and syntaxtual elements of code when I shared it, but again, I expanded it to
be a public service, allowing anyone to use it. This site makes use of the S4P API to display shortened URL's on the paste's to make sharing them simple.
Attention
This product is currently undergoing a transition to ASP.NET. Design and code changes are extremely likely. Features may be added or removed
at my discretion.
ASPBulletinBoard. Simple ASP comunities.
ASPBulletinBoard was intially a concept designed to provide a simple, easy-to-use, feature-rich community software for use in ASP.NET environments. It is currently
undergoing rigerious design and programming. It also showcases Markdown instead of BBCode for formatting.
Code Sources and Contact Information
Code and modification sources are available to prospective employers upon request. To request code/sources for any project, send an email to
elliott.brown[at]evbpc.com from a company email, with the name of the company and a website the
company can be found at, as well as a description of the position and what sources you would like. If your request is a response to an application
the description of the position is not required should it be the same position that the application was submitted for. No-reply emails will be rejected.
